On Multiobjective Evolution Model
Self-Organized Criticality (SOC) phenomena could have a significant effect on
the dynamics of ecosystems. The Bak-Sneppen (BS) model is a simple and robust
model of biological evolution that exhibits punctuated equilibrium behavior.
Here we will introduce random version of BS model. Also we generalize the
single objective BS model to a multiobjective one.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Availability analysis of terrestrial free space optical (FSO) link using visibility data measured in tropical region
Haze and rain are the most impairments factors to free space optical (FSO) links. These weather conditions limit the visibility, and thereby causes high attenuation of the optical signal. This high attenuation reduces the availability performance of the FSO link. This study evaluates the performance of a terrestrial FSO link under tropical climate conditions. The performance analysis is evaluate over 5 km link distance. The cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the received signal to noise ratio (SNR) is used to study the outage performance of the FSO link under haze conditions. The performance analysis is based on three years measured visibility data in Malaysia. Based on the statistical analysis, link availability of 99.99% can be achieved for 37.44 dB SNR over 1 km link distance. Carrier class availability “five nine” can be achieved for 20 dBm transmission power using 1550 nm wavelength
Hyperbolic Metamaterial Resonator-Antenna Scheme for Large, Broadband Emission Enhancement and Single Photon Collection
We model the broadband enhancement of single-photon emission from color
centres in silicon carbide nanocrystals coupled to a planar hyperbolic
metamaterial, HMM resonator. The design is based on positioning the single
photon emitters within the HMM resonator, made of a dielectric index-matched
with silicon-carbide material. The broadband response results from the
successive resonance peaks of the lossy Fabry Perot structure modes arising
within the high-index HMM cavity. To capture this broadband enhancement in the
single photon emitters spontaneous emission, we placed a simple gold based
cylindrical antenna on top of the HMM resonator. We analyzed the performance of
this HMM coupled antenna structure in terms of the Purcell enhancement, quantum
efficiency, collection efficiency and overall collected photon rate. For
perpendicular dipole orientation relative to the interface, the HMM coupled
antenna resonator leads to a significantly large spontaneous emission
enhancement with Purcell factor of the order of 250 along with a very high
average total collected photon rate, CPR of about 30 over a broad emission
spectrum, 700 nm to 1000 nm. The peak CPR increases to about 80 at 900 nm,
corresponding to the emission of silicon-carbide quantum emitters. This is a
state of the art improvement considering the previous computational designs
have reported a maximum average CPR of 25 across the nitrogen-vacancy centre
emission spectrum, 600 nm to 800 nm with the highest value being about 40 at
650 nm
Fourth-generation SM imprints in B -> K^*l^+l^- decays with polarized K^*
The implication of the fourth-generation quarks in the B -> K^*l^+l^-
(l=mu,tau) decays, when K^* meson is longitudinally or transversely polarized,
is presented. In this context, the dependence of the branching ratio with
polarized K^* and the helicity fractions (f_{L,T}) of K^* meson are studied. It
is observed that the polarized branching ratios as well as helicity fractions
are sensitive to the NP parameters, especially when the final state leptons are
tauons. Hence the measurements of these observables at LHC can serve as a good
tool to investigate the indirect searches of new physics beyond the Standard
Model.Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures, V2: some of the graphs are modified according

Fungi - an Amalgam of Toxins and Antibiotics: a Mini- Review
Fungi are eukaryotes with many functions. Earlier, fungi were classified in the plant kingdom but were later classified as a separate kingdom due to their unique cell walls. Fungi are heterotrophs like animals and are more closely related to animals. The perception of fungi is inconspicuous due to their small sizes and their ability to grow symbiotically in plants, animals, other fungi, and parasites. Fungi are used for their nutrition, fermentation potential, and bactericidal potential. However, fungi are also toxic due to certain bioactive compounds known as mycotoxins. Candida and Aspergillus are invasive species that contribute to a high percentage of mycoses in oncological and haematological patients. The mortality rate due to invasive aspergillosis and candidiasis is high, at 4% and 2%, respectively. In the agriculture sector, a significant contributor to damage to crops globally is the invasion of filamentous fungi. Fungi invasion destroys over 125 million tons of wheat, rice, soybeans, potatoes, and maize annually. If prevented, 600 million people may be fed. Therefore, it is vital to consider the dual role of fungi, therapeutic, and pathogenic
LEVERAGING SOA IN BANKING SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
There is no doubt that the systems integration is one of the most important and complicated tasks in software filed especially for complex applications like banking systems. Complexity in integrating banking systems often comes from continues changes in both technical and business features provided by them to meet customer needs. Banking systems always come from different software vendors which mean using platforms and different design and architecture patterns, and this for sure adds extra complexity for integrating them. Serviceoriented architecture (SOA) is a promising method in software filed that aims to build or restructure software systems in a manner that makes their maintenance and integration easier. Agility is the most important goal that should be achieved when building and integrating banking systems. Simply, agility is needed to meet market needs quickly and efficiently and SOA is the way that could provide itSOA, SOI, P2P Integration, Web Services, and Legacy Code
